I m sorry but i can t imagine a couture show without E.S!He has this magical touch to the fabrics, look at the prints!!I m telling you almost every piece has a possibility to be a red carpet dresses!!If you ask me who would like to design your wedding dress?Straight away i would answer not Vera Wang not Valentino,it has to be Elie!!!!!!i know i need lots of money but this my dream rite?
According to style.com , before the show Elie said : "If a woman doesn't want 'rich,' she doesn't come to couture." He meant the general concept and idea of couture for sure, but chiffon doesn t need rich it is ok with how it is,so the importance is how you shape and print it i guess.
Anyway i like his aspects of fashion, love whatever comes out from him.
Where is my Valentino Red???
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli brought a new breath with taking clues from very early V collections. However,i really feel something wrong with fall couture collection.like the idea which they came up with ribbons(actually too many!!),laces, soft look but i guess i m missing out the bright V red with a bit fur detail or just something very V??Some of the dresses look like just for Audrey Hepburn which i really fall in love but general concept is not me!!sorry!!
Chanel Chanel..Well, Lagerfeld and his sophisticate girls roared down the runway under a giant pearl(which tributes the Coco) with a bit cold Russian royalty look, red lipsticks and no dresses dared to bare the knees concept .
Especially the one which Freja was wearing just looks like she is ready to wave her society before the big war starts. As Givenchy we see the heavy hand made labour on dresses which is amazingly done.
Attention to the boots and jewelleries!!Very assertive!!
Riccardo Tisci gives a nice touch to the couture pieces day by day.Above you see some of the pieces(very last 2 photo) from collection which remind me the mythological creature Yeti with its big body with full of furs. Beside that love this Italian man, especially whole concept takes me to the small villages in Turkey where you can find that kind of heavy labour on clothes(we call 'bindalli' for that special dress actually kind of kaftan) at 'henna nights'.This also a bit tradition thing in Italian villages as well.
Bindalli
I don't say those clothes are very similar but labour on both couture's(to me bindalli is kind of couture as well) deeply needs same effort, time and patience. So i guess Tisci's inspiration comes from his roots.
What do you Reckon?
